Dr. Brian Blackwood Completes 3,000th Joint Replacement Using Robotics
Fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement surgeon C. Brian Blackwood, M.D., recently completed his 3,000th joint replacement using Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology. The surgery was performed on Sept. 13. In January 2020, Dr. Blackwood performed Colorado’s first Mako robotic joint replacement in an outpatient setting. With over a decade performing robotic-assisted joint replacements, Dr. Blackwood is the most experienced Mako robotic joint replacement surgeon in not only Colorado, but for the entire Rocky Mountain region. Additionally, Dr. Blackwood is in the top .5% nationwide for Mako joint replacement surgeons.

Dr. Blackwood received his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
